Currency Serbia

The currency of Serbia is the New Yugoslav Dinar, with one Dinar equalling 100 Paras. Notes come in denominations of YUM5000, 1000, 200, 100, 50, 20 and 10, with coins coming in denominations of YUM5, 2 and 1 and 50 Paras.

Currency can be exchanged at bureau de changes and in exchange machines in Belgrade. It should be noted that the most-used currencies for exchange in Serbia are US Dollars and Euros, with Pounds Sterling not used widespread. Traveller’s cheques are not widely accepted, and cash is recommended instead.

ATMs are available, though the number accepting international credit and debit cards is low. Credit and debit cards are accepted in larger hotels and restaurants, though the acceptance is not widespread. See:
